Nykerk highlight

Song. Play. Oration. 84 years of friendly competition, dazzling performances, and Nykerk Love.

Nykerk is a competition between freshman and sophomore women in three different areas: song, play, and oration. Junior and senior coaches arrange the music, write the plays and guide the orators as they craft seven-minute monologues.

After 21 days of practice and group bonding, Nykerk night arrives. Nine judges critique each performance and ultimately bestow the Nykerk Cup upon either odd or even year. Nykerk this year falls on November 2, 2019 at 7pm in The Devos Fieldhouse .

If you are interested in participating, come out to the Bultman Student Center Great Room on October 1 at 7pm for the Men’s Rally , or October 2 at 7pm for the Women’s Rally . 

Not interested in performing, but want to be involved? Email nykerk@hope.edu about being a part of Nykrew! Nykrew plays a vital role in the behind-the-scenes aspects of the competition like moving set pieces backstage for play and working the pipe and drape for song and oration.
