Hope’s women’s basketball team defeated Adrian College on Wednesday, putting them just one win away from the league title. With a dominating score of 86-33 Hope, the Flying Dutch reached a five-game win streak.
Freshman guard Kennedy Schoonveld scored a game-high of 12 points for her team during the first half; along with freshman Lauren Newman, who contributed 10 points during the game. Hope’s young team finished the regular season strong. Great performances were seen by the whole team on Wednesday, with 13 total three-pointers for the game!
Now with the chance at a league championship, the team will challenge Olivet on Saturday for a title share. Although it may be a challenge, the women’s team has proved to be tough and resilient throughout the season. As a truly growing team, the Flying Dutch can only go up from here.
