INNOVATIVE BLUEGRASS GROUP– A unique blend of classical music and Appalachian traditions was presented Sunday in a faculty recital/concert in the Jack Miller Concert Hall on campus. After some classical selections which open the recital, the brand-new Hope College-based quartet called The Field Hymnal took the stage. Highly refined and thoughtful renditions of bluegrass ensued, and the songs were all part of the band’s debut album, to be released soon. The band members are Nate Roberts on mandolin, Jared DeMeester on double bass, Luke Panning on fiddle, and Angelee Berrian, vocals.

Mark Lewison is The Anchor's faculty advisor and director of the Klooster Center for Excellence in Writing.
